FINAIS x Servette FC: Where Art, Football and Heritage Meet

For the 135th anniversary of Servette FC, this partnership took on a special artistic dimension. Together, Servette FC and FINAIS presented a series of artworks celebrating the history of the club and some of the personalities who helped shape it.

Celebrating 135 Years Through Art
Founded in Geneva in 1890, Servette FC celebrated its 135th anniversary in 2025. As part of the anniversary programme, artworks honouring figures such as Raymond Maffiolo, Alain Geiger and Marc Schnyder were displayed in the VIP entrance and Salon 18-90 at the Stade de Genève.
By presenting the artworks within the stadium, the project connected the club’s sporting history with the place where that history continues to be written. Guests encountered art as part of the matchday experience, surrounded by the colours, atmosphere and community of Servette FC.
The exhibition offered a new perspective on the club’s legacy. Rather than relying solely on historical records, it translated important personalities and memories into a visual and artistic form.
Live Painting at the Stade de Genève
The creative process also became part of the occasion. Before kick-off, an artist completed an artwork through live painting at the side of the pitch.
This moment brought artistic creation directly into the sporting environment. Visitors could witness the final development of the artwork while the stadium prepared for the match, connecting the concentration of the artist with the anticipation of the game.
The live painting demonstrated that heritage is not only preserved through the past. It can also inspire new interpretations and become the foundation for contemporary artistic expression.

The collaboration between FINAIS and Servette FC brought art and football together in a setting closely connected to the club’s history and identity. The exhibition and the artwork completed at the stadium offered a new perspective on the club’s 135th anniversary and placed selected figures from its history at the centre of this artistic tribute.
