Fine Art International Switzerland AG (FINAIS) played a central role in Romance and Starlight (浪漫与星辰), an international exhibition presented at the Guizhou Provincial Museum in China.

Spanning more than a century of European artistic development, from Romanticism to Modernism, the exhibition brought together more than 80 original European artworks, including works by internationally recognised artists such as Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso.

The complete group of European artworks presented in the exhibition was supplied by FINAIS and made available to the Guizhou Provincial Museum as a loan free of charge.

Through this contribution, FINAIS helped make an important selection of European art accessible to new audiences while supporting cultural exchange between Europe and China.

More Than 80 European Masterworks Brought Together in Guizhou

Romance and Starlight offered visitors an opportunity to explore the evolution of European art across several major periods and movements.

Rather than presenting individual works in isolation, the exhibition created a broader historical journey through changing artistic approaches to nature, light, colour, society and human experience.

Original works by major European artists allowed visitors to experience qualities that reproductions cannot fully convey: scale, texture, surface, colour and technique.

FINAIS supplied the European group at the centre of this experience, bringing together more than 80 works for presentation at the Guizhou Provincial Museum.

The project formed part of a wider institutional collaboration. The Guizhou Provincial Museum provided the exhibition space and oversaw the curatorial and academic framework, while the China Cultural Relics Exchange Center was involved in introducing the exhibition.

Within this collaboration, FINAIS acted as the source and lender of the European artworks.

Art as a Bridge Between Cultures

International exhibitions allow artworks to enter new cultural contexts and reach audiences who may otherwise never have the opportunity to encounter them directly.

This was particularly meaningful in Guizhou, a region with a rich cultural identity shaped by its history, local traditions and ethnic diversity.

Presenting European artworks in this environment created an opportunity for discovery and comparison between different artistic traditions. It also encouraged a broader dialogue between Eastern and Western approaches to art, history and cultural expression.

At FINAIS, we believe that collections can play an active role in cultural exchange.

Carefully organised international loans allow significant works to reach museums and public audiences while supporting education, research and cooperation between collectors, institutions and cultural organisations.

By making the European artworks available to the Guizhou Provincial Museum, FINAIS contributed directly to this exchange.

Continuing International Cultural Cooperation

Romance and Starlight demonstrated what can be achieved when artworks, expertise and institutions come together around a shared cultural objective.

FINAIS is proud to have made this important selection of European artworks available to the Guizhou Provincial Museum and its visitors.

We look forward to continuing to develop collaborations with museums and cultural institutions, creating opportunities for important works of art to reach new audiences and encouraging meaningful dialogue between cultures.
